When I photograph an elopement in Ireland, I am not only thinking about the ceremony or the epic portraits we will take later in the day.
I am thinking about the entire story.
That is why I love when couples add Ireland elopement getting ready photos to their photography coverage.
Your wedding day starts long before you stand together and exchange vows. It starts when you wake up and realize that today is the day you are getting married.
There is anticipation.
There may be nerves.
There is the excitement of getting dressed and preparing for the adventure ahead.
Those moments deserve to be part of your story too.

One of the things I love most about photographing an entire elopement day is seeing how the story unfolds.
Your gallery might begin with quiet moments in your room before you are fully dressed. Then, we head out into Ireland for your ceremony, portraits, and whatever adventure you have planned afterward.
Getting ready photos help connect all of those moments.
Instead of your gallery beginning with a dramatic portrait at the Cliffs of Moher or another incredible location, it begins with something more personal.
The beginning of the day.
The moment everything starts to feel real.
I love photographing details, but I am also paying attention to what is happening around you.
Maybe you are helping each other get ready.
Maybe you are sharing coffee before putting on your wedding clothes.
Maybe one of you is nervous while the other is trying to make them laugh.
Those are the moments I want you to remember.

One of the reasons I love elopements is that you do not have to follow anyone else’s wedding rules.
If you want to get ready separately and have a first look, we can create space for that.
If you would rather spend the entire day together, you can get ready together.
Personally, I love photographing couples helping each other with the final details before heading out for the day. It feels relaxed and intimate, and it can create some of the most natural moments.
Your Ireland elopement should feel like your relationship.
Not like a checklist of things you think you are supposed to do.

Where you start your day can add so much personality to your photographs.
Maybe you are staying in a cozy cottage near Doolin. Maybe you found a beautiful hotel or somewhere with incredible views outside the window.
That location becomes the first setting in your wedding story.
Then, as we move through the day, your photographs change with the experience.
We can go from quiet, intimate moments indoors to dramatic cliffs, colorful streets, or the Irish coastline.
As a photographer, I love that variety because it makes your final gallery feel like a complete story rather than a collection of portraits from one location.

This is something I want couples to know before their elopement.
You do not have to perform for me all day.
Especially during the getting ready portion of your day.
I will guide you when it is helpful, but I also spend a lot of time simply paying attention.
I want to capture the moments that are already happening.
The laughter.
The nervous energy.
The quiet moments.
The excitement before you leave.
That is what makes these photographs personal.

When you are planning your photography coverage, I encourage you to think about the entire experience you want to remember.
Your ceremony is important.
The epic portraits are important.
However, the beginning of your day matters too.
Adding Ireland elopement getting ready photos gives your wedding story room to begin naturally and unfold throughout the day.
As your Ireland elopement photographer, I want to document the dramatic moments you traveled across the world to experience. However, I also want to photograph the quieter moments that may become just as meaningful when you look back years from now.
If you are looking for an Ireland elopement photographer who will document more than just the ceremony, I would love to hear about what you are planning.
Let’s create a photography experience that tells the story from the moment your day begins.
